About Stephanie Connolly

Stephanie is a highly specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) registered with the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists, The Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice and governed by the Health & Care Professionals Council. Stephanie has experience working online, in clinics and schools for the NHS and independent practice. Stephanie has a wide range of experience working with children in the Early Years to adults assessing and providing intervention for Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties.

Stephanie is also trained in using the gold standard assessments (ADOS-2) and (ADI-r) to assess for autism spectrum conditions in children and adults, the Diagnostic Interview of ADHD in Adults and Children (DIVA and Young DIVA) and Qb Check.

Why Stephanie chose Speech and Language Therapy as a career?

Prior to her Speech and Language Therapy Post Graduate training, Stephanie completed a Psychology undergraduate degree and was always captivated by social psychology, human behaviour, communication and linguistics. This led Stephanie to further explore Speech and Language Therapy as a career. On a personal note, Stephanie’s son has a diagnosis of Dyslexia, and it was evident at aged 8 that the educational attainment gap was widening for him, and school was becoming less motivating and more difficult; this drove her passion further and gave Stephanie the affirmation that Speech and Language Therapy was the career for her.

Stephanie has always possessed a keen motivation to help others and provide solutions whilst being creative and flexible in her approach. She is naturally inquisitive in human behaviour and self-reflective which has broadened her understanding and ability to relate to others in a meaningful way. The most rewarding part of Stephanie’s day is working with each unique person and supporting their journey towards receiving the right diagnosis and post-care support while being listened to and highly valued.
